Our Swedish paper-making operations may be considered as the most complete and modern in the world. The Tumba paper-mill dates back to 1753 and since early times, has won international acclaim for the quality of its products. Embracing the Scandanvian flair for design and attention to detail, the Tumba mill has been configured to incorporate a unique and comprehensive range of embedded security features and meet the most challenging manufacturing specifications.
Together, our international operations enable us to produce the finest mould made papers in the world along with the most durable and resistant substrates. This capability ensures that we can offer optimised substrate solutions to meet every customer’s need. Our combined global paper-making capacity is over 20,000 tonnes per annum.
I PAPER CHARACTERISTICS
Crane Currency paper is noted around the world for its high durability and resistance to soiling. Banknote paper durability has been the focus for our company since its beginning and we have developed a specific formula based on a raw material configuration that differs from most paper-makers. Our cotton and linen raw material is selected from only the highest quality suppliers and we are the biggest buyer of cotton for paper in the world. Our manufacturing process has been optimised to derive the best performance characteristics from every type of cotton and linen and to give us the highest levels of flexibility and responsiveness to market demands.
