Bank of Ghana Issues Series of Upgraded Notes with RAPID® Security Features

The Bank of Ghana today issued upgraded banknotes with improved security features, durability, and machine readability. All five denominations (1, 5, 10, 20, and 50-cedi notes) feature Crane’s RAPID^® windowed security thread.

When the note is tilted, a star expands and contracts while the denomination value stays still.

In April 2017, the Bank of Ghana issued a 5 cedi commemorative banknote which also featured RAPID micro-optics.
