New Higher Denominations Issued by the Central Bank of Sudan

The Central Bank of Sudan has begun an introduction of a new series of higher denomination banknotes. Among the first in the series is a new 100 Pound note with a three-dimensional RAPID® security thread by Crane Currency.

The banknote substrate is supplied by Crane Currency from its paper mill in Tumba, Sweden.

The frontside of the new 100 Pound banknote contains illustrations of the pyramids of the Kushite rulers at Meroe on the east bank of the Nile. The backside represents Sudan’s many dams – vital for managing the country’s water resources generating valuable energy.
