New President of Crane Currency Appointed

Sam Keayes has been appointed as President of Crane Currency, a Crane Co. company. He joined Crane Currency in early 2019 as Vice-President International, responsible for all operations and customers outside of the USA. Sam will now lead all three of Crane Currency’s businesses: US Government Products, International & Technology.

Commenting on his appointment, Sam Keayes said, “I am honoured to lead an international company with over 200 years of banknote heritage in the USA and Sweden and a state-of-the art banknote printing facility in Malta. Crane Currency has an incredible depth of expertise in banknote design, banknote security features, durable banknote paper and banknote printing. Moreover, we have a rich culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing and long-term partnerships with customers all around the world.”

Prior to Crane Currency, Sam worked for Thales for over a decade, leading a variety of multi-national technology, engineering and manufacturing businesses. Earlier in his career he served in the British Government in a range of policy and diplomatic roles.

In his new role as President of Crane Currency, Sam Keayes will lead one of the world’s leading integrated suppliers of secure, well-designed banknotes, counterfeit resistant security technology and durable banknote paper.

“Crane Currency’s unique micro-optics technologies are the world’s leading banknote security features. Central banks can integrate them to create a wide range of bespoke, engaging, visual effects that increase security and public trust in banknotes – and our micro-optic products have never been successfully counterfeited,” notes Sam.

Crane Currency benefits from the support of parent company Crane Co. – a publicly listed (NYSE:CR) company which provides customers with full transparency about the financial strength of the business, together with its comprehensive philanthropic, sustainability and ethical practices. Crane Co. is a global manufacturer of highly engineered products, with annual sales of more than $3bn USD and more than 11,000 employees.
