Management Team


Annemarie C. Watson – President
Annemarie joined Crane Currency in 2012 as the Vice President of Operations across Crane’s global businesses.  In 2016, she was promoted to President of International Currency where she was responsible for research and development, product management, production and delivery of all non-US product for Crane. In January 2018, Annemarie was named President of Crane Currency. She has previous experience in operational improvement and strategy roles at MDS Inc. (a global Life Sciences company), The Boston Consulting Group, as well as Honda Manufacturing. She received her M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School and an Engineering Degree from Queen’s University.



Bill Westervelt – Senior Vice President, International Sales
Bill is responsible for all of Crane’s commercial and customer development activities for our non-US clients. Bill has been a part of Crane’s currency business since 1988 and has broad background including process engineering, sales, and general management. Bill was Managing Director of Crane’s Swedish subsidiary from 2002 to 2006. He holds an MS degree in Paper Science from Lawrence University and a BS from the University of Maine.



Doug Prince – Chief Financial Officer
Doug joined Crane as CFO in February 2013. This is his third CFO assignment including prior roles at Northern Power Systems, a small privately held wind turbine company, and at MDS Inc., a $1.2B publically traded life sciences company dual listed on the Toronto and New York stock exchanges. Doug began his career at General Electric, followed by leadership roles at AlliedSignal, Eaton and PerkinElmer. Doug holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Kentucky.



Jim Hackett – Vice President & General Counsel
Jim Hackett currently serves as the General Counsel of Crane. Prior to joining Crane, in 2011, Jim was a partner at the Boston firm of Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP, where he practiced law for 20 years, focusing on general corporate matters, securities, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance. Jim received his JD from Cornell School of Law and a BA from the College of the Holy Cross.



Scott Smith – Vice President Human Resources
Scott Smith currently serves as the Vice President of Human Resources. With 20 years of human resources experience, Scott has extensive experience in advanced Human Resources practices and executive leadership. He was a key member of the management teams that created Vertellus Inc., from the merger of Rutherford Chemical and Rielly Chemicals; led Formica Corporation through a successful Chapter 11 financial reorganization; and grew General Cable Corporation through multiple mergers and acquisition. Scott received his MBA from the University of Pittsburgh and has a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting.



Rich Rowe, President US Government Products
Rich joined Crane in 2008 as the president of Technical Graphics, a security technology division of Crane. In May 2012, Rich became President of the U.S. Government Products Division for Crane Currency. Prior to Crane, he was with MeadWestvaco (formerly Mead Corp.) in South Lee, MA, where he held leadership positions in Operations Management, Marketing, International Sales, and finally as V.P. of Business Development. Prior to that he worked in Engineering and Operations Management roles at James River Corporation. He has a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia.



Eric Ziegler, President, Banknote and Technical Products
Eric joined Crane in May 2012 leading the product strategy, R&D, product management and operations for the global security features business. Eric came to Crane from PerkinElmer Analytical Sciences and Laboratory Services where he led the global product management and R&D teams for a global $1.0 billion revenue division and in his career has launched over 50 new significant products.  Previously at PerkinElmer he managed business P&Ls and oversaw their global manufacturing operations.  Eric completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and has a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from University of Rochester and a Masters in Engineering Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.



Tom Gernon,Vice President of Continuous Improvement
Tom joined Crane in January 2017 and is responsible for Information Technology, Process Excellence and Security. Previously, he held senior roles in technology and operations in a variety of industries including education, life sciences, retail and financial services for companies such as The Princeton Review, MDS Inc., Staples Inc. and Fidelity Investments. Mr. Gernon completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and received his B.S. of Computer Science from The College of William and Mary.
