STORIES THAT INSPIRE US

Hear from some of our veterans who have successfully transitioned to a fulfilling career at Crane Currency. Their stories are testaments to the resilience, dedication, and unique skills that veterans bring to our team. Stories like these inspire us every day and highlight the incredible contributions veterans make to our mission.

Erin Folloni – Sr. Manager, Global Security Operations

  • What skills from your military service have helped you most in your current role?
My military service taught me how to lead under pressure, adapt quickly to changing conditions, and stay mission-focused no matter the challenge. Those skills have translated directly into my work in global security operations — where composure, clear communication, and strategic decision-making are essential every day.
  • Can you share a moment where your military background really made a difference?
One moment that stands out was when a sister company faced a high-impact event and needed immediate support. Coordinating emergency response across teams and business units required calm under pressure, rapid risk assessment, and decisive leadership — all rooted in my experience as a Military Police leader. That background made a measurable impact in stabilizing the situation and maintaining our associate’s safety.
  • How would you describe our culture to other veterans?
It’s a culture that values integrity, accountability, and teamwork — qualities that feel familiar to anyone who’s served. There’s a shared sense of purpose and respect for the mission that makes this an excellent environment for veterans to continue leading, contributing, and making an impact.
  • To be clear: Our culture mirrors the core values veterans know well: integrity, accountability, mission-first mentality and teamwork. Crane Currency is a place where service-minded leadership is respected, where your experience translates into impact, and where the sense of purpose doesn’t end when the uniform comes off. Veterans don’t just fit in here at Crane — I’d say they thrive.

Robert Markland – Maintenance & Facilities Manager

  • What skills from your military service have helped you most in your current role?
I spent the better part of 12 years working in Fighter Aircraft Maintenance. This was a fast paced, demanding role that absolutely depended upon solid teamwork. I worked with people from all over the world and it taught me how to successfully communicate with each other as we strived to achieve a common goal. I continually practice what I learned from those experiences and this past year I was honored with the Crane NXT VIP “Trusted Partner” award.
  • Can you share a moment here where your military background really made a difference?
The Military taught me that opportunities to succeed and advance were all around you. You were only limited by your own ambition. In my 30 years at Crane, I have jumped at every opportunity that saw, and it has put my in my current position that I absolutely love.
  • How would you describe our culture to other veterans?
Crane is a great place to establish a career, and we continue to evolve even after 224 years. I have been thanked for my service more times than I can count and many of those experiences in the service have helped me build the Team that I am on. We work hard and can depend on each other when needed.
