Certifications

Banknote Ethics Initiative (BnEI) Accreditation

Being an accredited member of BnEI means that Crane Currency has put in place strong systems to protect the organization from the risks of bribery, corruption, and breaches of antitrust legislation. BnEI was created specifically for the banknote industry and holds rigorous requirements that are upheld through independent audits. In order to keep accreditation, Crane Currency must be audited once every three years.

ISO 14298:2013 Management of Security Printing Processes

ISO 14298:2013 is the international standard for management of security printing processes, developed to fight fraud and counterfeiting. There are three levels of certification for security printing. Our printing plant in Malta is certified at the Central Bank level, which is the highest level achievable.

CWA 15374:2018 Security Management System for Suppliers to the Security Printing industry

CWA 15374:2018 applies to suppliers of products that include security features – or suppliers of services that ensure the physical security of printed matter manufactured by a security printing company, e.g. producers of inks, foils and security paper. Our Paper Mill in Tumba holds this certification.

ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems

ISO 45001:2018 is a certification ensuring that a place of work has systems in place to manage and continuously improve occupational health and safety. Operating alongside this standard has the intention of preventing injury and ill health. At Crane we uphold this standard rigorously through consistent communication and training. This Certification is held by our facilities in Malta, Nashua and Tumba.

ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System

ISO 14001:2015 is an internationally agreed standard that sets out the requirements for an environmental management system. It helps organizations improve their environmental performance through more efficient use of resources and reduction of waste, gaining a competitive advantage and the trust of stakeholders. Sustainability and environmental awareness is a subject that we take seriously and as we are developing new business initiatives, we are trying to incorporate sustainable systems wherever we can. Crane’s operations in Dalton, Malta, Nashua and Tumba hold this certification.

ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System

This certification means that Crane has a Quality Management System (QMS) in place that ensures we can provide consistent, conforming products and services. We monitor the levels of satisfaction of our customers and use this information to improve. All Crane Currency sites hold this certification, that is: Alpharetta, Dalton, Malta, Nashua and Tumba.

ISO 27001:2013 Information security management systems

Being certified with ISO/IEC 27001 means that our business has put in place a system to manage risks related to the security of data owned or handled by the company, and that this system respects all the best practices and principles enshrined in this International Standard.
